Church: It’s a loaded word. For some people it brings up images of stained glass windows, robed choirs and worn hymnals. For others they picture raised hands and passionate preachers. Some respond with pain or cynicism and others with joy-filled memories. What does church mean to you?

At Linworth, church means community. It means people gathering together to worship a great God. And we love it when visitors join us in that pursuit. We want you to know what to expect and to feel free to ask questions. Below you will find helpful information regarding the content of our Sunday morning services.

Worship

We typically sing at the beginning and end of each service. Singing songs that express our love to God is one way we draw close to Him. We often sing songs several times through so you can learn the music and focus on the words. Feel free during these moments to sit, stand or kneel.

Teaching

There will be a message given that will teach and encourage you in understanding and living out Christianity. Check out past messages.

Prayer

We believe prayer is communication with God and can be powerful. We pray in various ways and times throughout the service. If you desire to receive individual prayer, you will have the opportunity following the service to meet with a member of our prayer team.

Offering

This moment in our service gives our regular attenders the opportunity to express their love for God through giving back to Him. If you’re a guest you are free to give, but please know that our primary goal is to serve you and move you towards the next step in your relationship with God.

Communion

This is for Christ-followers to remember the life of Jesus. If you are a Christian, you are welcome to receive communion with us. The symbols of communion helping us remember the sacrifice of Jesus are bread (His body) and juice (His blood). If you are not yet a Christian, simply pass these symbols on to the next person. You will not be judged or criticized. We are glad you are exploring Christianity.
